Amrita Paper Mache Vase
Amrita Paper Mache Vase
The Amrita Paper Mache Vase is handcrafted from natural and sustainable papier-mâché. This vase has a chalky, limewash-like texture and rounded silhouette. We love it for the tranquil aesthetic and the subtle softness it brings to styling moments.
Our papier-mâché pieces are handmade from recycled newspaper mixed with water, chalk and tree sap crystals to form a clay-like material. The clay is then shaped, rolled and moulded into the sculptural objects we admire. There is no firing or power used and the process is entirely eco-friendly. Each piece will have subtle differences in finish and these variations are part of the handmade appeal. Porous in nature, papier-mâché should not be exposed to liquids.

Wabi Sabi is the Japanese art of finding beauty in imperfections. At Hibou Design & Co. we've always believed that even the most contemporary projects never really feel like home until we incorporate accents that bring a sense of history to the space. This is why we travel to the corners of our province to source original antiques and curate imported goods that are hand-made, one-of-a-kind originals. A lot of these pieces are made by artisans using traditional methods passed down from generation to generation. Each piece from our Wabi-Sabi Collection is unique and has a story.
