Arte Paper Mache Bowl
Arte Paper Mache Bowl
The Arte Paper Mache Bowl is handcrafted from natural and sustainable papier-mâché. This bowl has a chalky, limewash-like texture. We love it for its functional size, which can be used to display objects or can be simply admired for the soft organic warmth it brings to spaces. Perfect for your coffee table, kitchen island or dining table.
Our papier-mâché pieces are handmade from recycled newspaper mixed with water, chalk and tree sap crystals to form a clay-like material. The clay is then shaped, rolled and moulded into the sculptural objects we admire. There is no firing or power used and the process is entirely eco-friendly. Each piece will have subtle differences in finish and these variations are part of the handmade appeal. Porous in nature, papier-mâché should not be exposed to liquids.

Wabi Sabi is the Japanese art of finding beauty in imperfections. At Hibou Design & Co. we've always believed that even the most contemporary projects never really feel like home until we incorporate accents that bring a sense of history to the space. This is why we travel to source and curate imported goods that are hand-made, one-of-a kind originals. A lot of these pieces are made by artisans using traditional methods passed down from generation to generation. Each piece from our Wabi-Sabi Collection is unique and has a story.
